Where do rates come from?
Primary: Bank of Taiwan cash sell rate (about hourly). Fallback: open.er-api.com mid-rate when a currency is missing.
How often are rates updated?
Cached for 1 hour. The "Updated" line shows source and time. Tap Sync to refresh — open once before trips abroad.
Does it support TWD base?
Yes. TWD is the base (rate 1). Cross rates are computed via convert() in lib/fx — 17 BOT currencies plus 160+ ISO via fallback.
Cash vs spot — which to use?
Cash-sell for physical exchange (worse rate, includes handling); spot for card and online shopping — never mix the two.
Does it equal the actual exchange amount?
Close to counter cost but not a deal price — banks add spreads and fees, so compare 2–3 boards before large exchanges.
Same rates as Travel Splitter?
Yes — same feed, same cross-rate logic; trial here, then log the expense there without re-checking.
