FAQ
How are expenses split?
By default, every expense is split equally among all members. Before saving, tap "Split among" to select only some members – the expense will then be split only among the selected people. Each person's net = paid − owed; positive means to receive, negative means to pay.
How to use multi-currency?
In "Currencies & Rates" add a code like JPY and set how much 1 unit is worth in your base currency. When adding an expense, pick the currency – all nets and settlement suggestions are auto-converted to the base. Changing a rate recalculates instantly.
How is "Who pays whom" calculated?
The system greedily matches debtors to creditors to produce the fewest transfers. For a 3-person trip it usually takes only 1–2 transfers to settle.
Can multiple companions share the ledger?
Yes. Tap "Create Group" with current members to get a 6-char code. Companions open the same tool and enter the code or invite link, then everyone shares the same ledger and syncs every 20s (requires Cloudflare D1).
Will data be lost if I close the browser?
No. Members and expenses are saved instantly to your browser's localStorage and survive refresh. Only "Clear expenses" erases them.
Do you support different currencies?
Yes. Add any currency and set its rate (1 unit = how much base). The system auto-converts to base for settlement.
Can only some people share an expense?
Yes. Before saving, tap "Split among" to deselect people – the expense will be split only among the remaining members.
